Sons & Daughters of Noble Family facilitated by Laura & Steve Simmons

April 7th—October 20th

Date details +

Our community was founded by the Vidyadhara, Chogyam Trungpa, Rinpoche.  During his lifetime, he held and propagated the Tibetan buddhist lineage streams of the Kagyu, Nyingma, and Shambhala teachings both in Tibet and here in the west.  After his death in 1986, his western students found support to continue their dharma paths in a variety of ways.  Today, many of those students will be contributing to a lecture series offered by Karme Choling entitled, Sons and Daughters of Noble Family

We would like to highlight this series for the benefit of our local sangha.  If you want to get some feeling about how this first generation of western students has worked with these teachings in our culture and be introduced to some compatible and active teachers and organizations today, we invite you to check out the following link for more details.

You may register for this series (or individual talks) on your own, but we also wish to invite you to view these lectures together at our center.  The lectures are not every Sunday, but they are all on Sundays.  They follow closely upon our Sunday morning meditation and book discussion which ends at 12:30. Each lecture is from 1:00 until 3:00.  If you plan to make a day of it, that leaves a 30-minute lunch period from 12:30-1:00.  You may wish to bring a bag lunch.  Registration is not necessary if you plan to join the group viewing.  Donations to Karme Choling or heart gifts to the teachers are optional.

Recordings of the talks will be made available by the Karme Choling team to anyone who is registered.

Note:  We will not view the talks at the center on these dates:  June 2, July 14, September 22,  If you would like to watch these talks live, please plan to join from home.
